You won’t believe your eyes when you see this. I think.
Here’s the before:
And the after:
Well, almost after. I still have to paint the window and the bar stools. And replace the baseboard. And put the knobs on the cabinets. And…probably a million other things. Use your imagination. :)
More details, timeline, and in-progress pictures to come.
But you should know, we did this 100% DIY. 100%. All the plumbing, all the electrical, all the flooring…oh shoot, not the flooring. But the cabinet installation, countertop installation, cabinet painting, window replacements, 100% (except for the floor) was DIY by my amazing Daddy and husband. They’re pretty cool. And I think it cost less than $4k, appliances included!

katie, that is GORGEOUS!!! you did a fantastic job with all of it! i love the cabinets and countertops and i love the open shelving! it all looks so fresh, clean, and updated!
ReplyDeleteWOW wow wow!!! You did an amazing job! Great work!
ReplyDeleteWe are also renovating our farmhouse that was built somewhat around the same time! (we've had estimates between 1850's - 1901).
I LOVE your kitchen! Bravo!
Great make-over!! I'm jealous! I've always dreamed of restoring an old home. (Although my brother tells me it can be more of a nightmare than a dream!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the welcome to the world of blogging. I'm still getting my sense of direction on the whole thing! We went with Big D and Little D, because my daughter wanted to blog but it had to by annonymous--she is 12, afterall, and can't be found out to be doing this sort of thing with MOM!

ReplyDeleteHi. Thanks for visiting my blog. Love your home! Nice kitchen! I look forward to seeing more of your farmhouse. I love old homes. We have a 1925 home in Idaho that our daughters used when they went to college. Do you collect white milk glass?
ReplyDeleteThat is great that you have vintage bedspreads. It would be easy to make a throw. If you give me your email, I can email more info to you.
