Warming up…

Thanks to Nick Kelsh, I am learning more and more every day.  The other day, he was critiquing a photo on Facebook and said, “It has a cast that lots of amateur photos have—it's like a magenta soup.”  Then, he “warmed it up with some yellow and red.”

See how much better the middle picture looks?  Well, I decided to try this on some of my own photos.

I took these late in the evening, and they definitely look like “magenta soup.”  Then, I used Memory Manager to increase the red and yellow, and I love the result!

The picture above is probably the most dramatic change.  I know the crop isn’t great, but I LOVE the way the color turned out.

Here are some more examples:

So – want to make your photos look more professional?  Look carefully to see if they’re covered in magenta soup, and fix them!

And if you want to learn more, from someone who actually has some photography credentials – check out Nick Kelsh on Facebook.  Just search “How to Photograph your Baby.”  Or, go to his website.  Or, order his DVD. :)
